Oranges

Each type of orange contains more than 100% of the recommended daily value (DV) of vitamin C. This is more than any other citrus fruit.

Oranges are primarily composed of carbohydrates and water. They contain little protein, traces of fat and very few calories.

Oranges are a very good source of fibre. One large orange (184 g) contains about 18% of the recommended daily intake (RDI).

The main fibres contained in oranges are pectin, cellulose, lignan and hemicellulose, and lignin.

Fibre has many beneficial health benefits such as good digestive function, body weight and cholesterol levels.
